384 × 288 VOx Thermal Imaging

The WOLF 3C uses a 384 × 288 uncooled vanadium oxide (VOx) thermal detector with a 12 μm pixel pitch.

The detector senses differences in infrared energy emitted by objects and converts those differences into a visible thermal image.

Because thermal imaging does not rely on conventional visible illumination, heat signatures can be observed during daylight, darkness and other visually challenging conditions.

The 384×288 native thermal resolution provides useful detail for outdoor observation while maintaining a compact device configuration.

High-Sensitivity NETD <25 mK

The WOLF 3C has a listed NETD below 25 mK at F1.0.

A lower NETD value generally indicates greater ability to distinguish small temperature differences within a thermal scene.

This can help improve thermal image separation in challenging conditions such as:

  • High humidity

  • Fog

  • Light rain

  • Low thermal contrast

  • Relatively uniform backgrounds

  • Changing outdoor temperatures

Actual performance will depend on environmental conditions, lens configuration, target characteristics and image-processing settings.

35mm F1.0 Objective Lens

The WOLF 3C features a 35mm F1.0 thermal objective lens with a listed field of view of approximately 10° × 8°.

This configuration provides a practical balance between subject detail, image brightness, viewing area and medium-to-long-distance observation.

The F1.0 aperture is designed to efficiently transmit infrared energy to the thermal detector.

Smooth 50 Hz Thermal Imaging

A 50 Hz refresh rate provides smooth image updates during handheld scanning and observation.

This can be particularly useful when:

  • Following moving wildlife

  • Scanning larger outdoor areas

  • Walking while observing

  • Monitoring moving heat sources

  • Conducting property inspections

  • Performing search-support activities

Dual-Use Clip-On & Standalone Configuration

One of the distinguishing characteristics of the WOLF 3C is its flexible configuration.

Depending on the selected accessories, it may be used as a front-mounted thermal clip-on or configured as a standalone thermal viewer.

This provides greater flexibility for users who require a thermal imaging device that can adapt to different observation setups.

Compatibility depends on the selected adapter, objective diameter, alignment, centre height and mounting configuration.

Colour OLED Display

The WOLF 3C features a compact 0.39-inch colour OLED display.

OLED technology provides strong contrast and deep black levels, helping thermal palettes and temperature differences remain clearly visible.

The exact display resolution should be checked for the selected production configuration, as supplier information contains more than one listed OLED resolution.

Six Thermal Colour Palettes

The WOLF 3C provides six listed thermal palettes:

  • White Hot

  • Black Hot

  • Iron

  • Rainbow

  • Sepia

  • Fire

Different thermal palettes provide alternative ways to display temperature differences and can help improve visibility according to the scene, environment and personal preference.

Continuous Digital Enlargement

The device supports continuous digital enlargement, with listed 1×, 2× and 4× steps available depending on configuration.

Digital enlargement increases the apparent size of thermal subjects on the display but does not increase the physical 384×288 resolution of the detector.

Fine image detail may therefore decrease as digital enlargement increases.

Picture-in-Picture Mode

Built-in Picture-in-Picture (PIP) displays an enlarged portion of the thermal scene while retaining the wider image.

This provides a convenient way to examine smaller or more distant thermal features without losing awareness of the surrounding environment.

Hotspot Tracking

The hotspot tracking function helps identify and mark the warmest visible area within the thermal scene.

This can be useful during:

  • Equipment monitoring

  • Electrical inspection

  • Property checks

  • General heat-source location

  • Thermal scene analysis

Hotspot tracking identifies temperature differences and should not be interpreted as automatic object identification.

Photo & Video Recording

The WOLF 3C supports both photo capture and video recording, allowing thermal observations to be documented for later review.

This can be useful for recording wildlife observations, equipment inspections, property checks and other appropriate thermal imaging activities.

32GB Built-In Storage

The standard WOLF 3C configuration includes 32GB of internal storage for captured thermal images and video.

An optional 128GB storage configuration is also listed.

Available user storage and recording capacity will vary according to image resolution, video bitrate, compression, frame rate and reserved system storage.

Wi-Fi Connectivity

Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity provides support for compatible wireless functions.

Depending on the supported application and firmware, available functionality may include live thermal viewing, media transfer, remote recording or compatible device settings.

Available functions can vary according to the software and selected product configuration.

USB Type-C Connectivity

The integrated USB Type-C interface supports compatible data transfer and external power functionality.

The interface may also support battery charging depending on the selected battery configuration.

Extended Battery Operation

The standard power system uses two rechargeable 18350 batteries.

Battery life is listed at up to approximately nine hours at 25°C under stated operating conditions.

Actual operating time may vary according to Wi-Fi use, recording, display settings, ambient temperature, battery condition and optional accessories.

An alternative configuration using two CR123A batteries may also be available.

IP67 Environmental Protection

The WOLF 3C carries a listed IP67 protection rating.

This rating indicates a dust-tight enclosure and resistance to temporary water immersion under defined test conditions.

IP67 does not mean the device is intended for continuous underwater operation. Protective covers and battery compartments should remain correctly secured during outdoor use.

Wide Operating Temperature Range

The WOLF 3C has a listed operating-temperature range of approximately -30°C to 60°C, with a listed storage range of approximately -40°C to 70°C.

This provides flexibility across a wide range of outdoor environments.

Battery performance and image behaviour may vary at extreme temperatures.

Optional Laser Rangefinder

A Laser Rangefinder (LRF) is available as an optional configuration.

Because the rangefinder is not standard equipment on every WOLF 3C, it should only be selected or advertised when included with the specific product configuration being purchased.

Suitable Applications

The WOLF 3C may be suitable for:

  • Wildlife observation

  • Farm and livestock monitoring

  • Property inspection

  • Outdoor exploration

  • Night-time thermal observation

  • Search-support activities

  • Security observation

  • Electrical inspection

  • Equipment monitoring

  • General heat-source detection

Available Configurations

The WOLF 3C may be available in different configurations, including:

  • Standard WOLF 3C thermal clip-on

  • Standalone thermal viewing kit

  • Configuration with optional Laser Rangefinder

  • 32GB storage configuration

  • Optional 128GB storage configuration

Included accessories and specifications can vary between configurations. Select the appropriate product option according to the required features and compatibility.

Important Product Information

The supplied technical information contains specifications that appear to relate to multiple WOLF Series configurations.

The 384 × 288, 12 μm VOx configuration is used for this product description. A separate 640×512 specification should not be interpreted as applying to this version unless explicitly stated for the selected unit.

Similarly, the exact OLED display resolution should be checked for the selected production configuration.

The optional Laser Rangefinder, 128GB storage and other optional accessories should not be assumed to be included with the standard product unless specifically stated.

Actual thermal imaging performance depends on lens configuration, target dimensions, temperature contrast, weather, humidity, distance and device settings.

Safety & Care

Avoid pointing the thermal detector directly toward the sun, lasers, welding arcs or other intense energy sources, as these may permanently damage the sensor.

Keep the objective lens clean and dry and ensure protective covers are correctly secured during outdoor operation.

Use only compatible batteries, charging equipment, cables, adapters and accessories.

Confirm adapter compatibility and secure attachment before use. Follow all applicable privacy, observation and local-use regulations.
