The GRS225RF uses a 256 × 192 thermal detector with a 12 μm pixel pitch to detect infrared energy emitted by people, animals, equipment and other objects.
The detector converts temperature differences into a visible thermal image, allowing heat signatures to be observed without relying on conventional visible illumination.
This makes thermal imaging effective for both daytime and night-time observation and in visually challenging outdoor environments.
The GRS225RF is equipped with a 25mm thermal objective lens, providing an optical configuration designed for medium- to long-distance observation.
The lens works together with the 256×192 detector to provide thermal observation across outdoor environments.
A 50 Hz thermal refresh rate provides smooth image updates during handheld observation and when following moving heat signatures.
The higher refresh rate is particularly useful when scanning large outdoor areas, repositioning the device or observing moving subjects.
Thermal imagery is presented through an integrated OLED display with 1440 × 1080 resolution.
OLED display technology provides strong contrast and deep black levels for clear presentation of thermal information.
The 1440×1080 figure represents display resolution and is separate from the native 256×192 thermal detector resolution.
The GRS225RF provides a listed 1X to 8X magnification range with continuous enlargement.
This allows the displayed image to be enlarged when observing distant heat signatures or examining a specific area within the thermal scene.
Digital enlargement increases apparent subject size without changing the native resolution of the thermal detector.
Integrated super-resolution processing digitally enhances the presentation of the thermal image.
The processing is designed to improve perceived edge visibility, local contrast, subject separation and image detail, particularly when the thermal image is enlarged.
Super-resolution processing enhances image presentation but does not change the detector's native 256×192 physical resolution.
The GRS225RF has a listed thermal detection distance of up to approximately 1,300 metres.
This provides long-distance heat-source detection for outdoor environments.
Thermal detection refers to detecting the presence of a heat source and should be distinguished from recognition or positive identification distance.
The GRS225RF features an integrated 905nm infrared laser rangefinder for laser-based distance measurement.
The rangefinder provides an additional distance-measurement capability alongside the thermal imaging system.
The laser-ranging function is separate from the 1,300m thermal detection specification.
The GRS225RF supports:
These recording functions allow thermal observations to be documented for later review.
The integrated recoil-activated recording function is designed to automatically save video when sudden movement or impact is detected.
This provides automatic recording functionality without requiring the user to manually begin recording at the moment of activation.
Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity allows the GRS225RF to communicate with a compatible smartphone or tablet through supported mobile-app functionality.
This adds wireless functionality alongside the device's onboard thermal observation and recording capabilities.
The GRS225RF carries a listed IP67 protection rating, providing a dust-tight enclosure and resistance to temporary water immersion under specified conditions.
IP67 does not indicate that the device is designed for continuous underwater operation.
The GOYOJO GRS225RF is designed for:
Avoid pointing the thermal detector directly at the sun, welding arcs, lasers or other intense energy sources, as these can damage the thermal sensor.
Use approved batteries and charging equipment and keep protective port covers closed during outdoor operation.
